the devil is still there capturing more life.and the death toll is also uprising nonsequence.that's a nightmare 4 all.hope a new technique could be developed which holds out the promise of solving the diehard scientific problem that earthquake could be predicted correctly somewhen and such a big one would be never taken place in any other coutry although earthquake is inevitable.thanx everybody 4 caring this earthquake in china!let our world full of more loves,less suffers......

perhaps this is one of the reasons as u said that caused a disastrous result.the one that reached unbelievable 8 levels is really a big 'monster' even if the city we live in wouldnt withstand that power in that xtreame condiction.but you're right that the best way to avoid mass casualties is to tighten the robustness of constructed buildings cos by far its impossible to predict earthquake accurately by present technology.
